Why do so many promising sustainable, green innovations stall after a successful pilot? Often, the challenge is not the technology itself, but the difficulty of aligning the right partners, governance, and institutional support to make solutions work at scale. In this interactive Masterclass, Ir. Luca Vadacca, dr.ir. Marc van den Berg and prof.dr.ir Leentje Volker share practical lessons from recent research on how organizations can orchestrate innovation ecosystems to scale sustainable solutions. Leentje Volker share practical lessons from recent research on how organizations can orchestrate innovation ecosystems to scale sustainable solutions.
Participants will explore a simple framework connecting three key elements:
- the architecture of your ecosystem (how complex, ready, and diverse your partners are);
- your orchestration model (who leads and how decisions are made), and;
- the rules and winds shaping your environment (regulations, incentives, public expectations).
After a short study introduction, through group exercises and hands-on tools such as the Ecosystem Scaling Canvas, you will map your own project, diagnose bottlenecks, and identify concrete levers for faster, broader uptake.
By the end, you’ll have a clearer picture of your ecosystem’s “scale-up wiring”, a menu of orchestration options suited to different situations, and a short action sketch you can apply in your own organization the next day.
